Yeah it sucks that it is such a downer, and the way people will degrade themselves for drugs. The only one that will probably have a chance is Tyrone. Harry, Sara, and Marion are all doomed.
I still can't get over how Aronofsky soiled the wonderful Jennifer Connelly.
Yeah... the Jennifer Connelly scene at the end is a big reason why that movie will NEVER be a good date movie...
I guess unless you're lesbians on heroin. But then the movie would suck.

The Wrestler is good, I liked it alot, they even use the Delware Memorial Bridge in one scene, I think.
You're right, the think was an awesome remake. Just wait till the day where they re-remake it

As for the Wrestler it takes place in the north of jersey, I believe ip near patterson, where they filmed Pete and Pete and The Sopranos.
However, you may understand, that I am partial to south Jersey. North and south are quite different.
A prequel to thing... ? Does the world really need one?! Is Carpenter involved?

I am partial to south nj as well. The food, the sights the people Hope Creek nuclear powerstation putting out tons of steam, the orange glow of DuPont at night. Being able to walk to places. Great stuff.
No Carpenter involvement in the prequel to the Thing. It will be written by Ron D Moore the guy who reimagined BSG, but it actually tells the story of the scientests from Norway that found the alien craft and the Thing, it leads into the beginning of the thing.
